- Other Matchless Summer Adventures
Before you consider the usual, look into these options:
Adventure – Outward Bound Wilderness Courses
For an “adventure education,” hit the trail or the high seas this summer to experience mountaineering, rock-climbing, backpacking, river kayaking, white-water rafting or sailing while meeting people your own age and learning self-reliance in the wilderness.
Outward Bound courses are not for wimps, nor are they cheap, but they are fitting for those who need trained professionals leading them on their adventure. You will travel every day and live off of the supplies you carry, learning skills like wilderness first aid, navigation and other important camp craft.
Students with a relevant major can even receive academic credit through an independent study course. Over 400 wilderness courses in 16 different states and countries are offered at lengths from four days to 12-week semesters abroad.

Learn – Aish Campus D.C. Trip to Israel
Aish Campus D.C. offers a three-week, $499 trip to Israel. This trip is for those who want to expand their basic understanding of core concepts in Jewish thought, the Land of Israel and Israel's current political situation. Participants will meet Israel's leaders, members of Knesset, top policy makers, hear from political experts and analysts, and study with world famous lecturers, philosophers and mystical thinkers. Participants will also travel the length and breadth of the land of Israel and spend quality time in Jerusalem.
We cannot guarantee that this trip is not indoctrination to pro-Israel American ideals or overtly biased, but it was recommended by one of our editors, so those interested should apply right away, as space is limited and interviews are required for acceptance.
